Mirena Umizaj Dumas
Chief Executive Officer | Founder
Born in Elbasan, Albania, and shaped by a life that required both courage and reinvention, Mirena’s journey began long before boardrooms, capital raises, or national litigation strategies. At seventeen, she crossed continents alone, arriving in the United States with little more than vision, hope, and an unshakable belief that life could be architected with intention.
In 2013, Mirena founded Mirena and Company with a simple observation: many law firms were working incredibly hard, but often within systems that felt fragmented and unnecessarily complex.
Her goal was to bring greater alignment to help connect strategy, capital, and long-term planning in a way that felt more cohesive and thoughtful.
Over time, the company has grown into an integrated platform offering law firm consulting, litigation finance, settlement planning, and related services. The intention has always remained the same: to support firms in building sustainable, well-structured businesses so they can focus on social justice.
Through this work, Mirena has participated in the deployment of over $1.5 billion dollars to law firms nationwide, supporting some of the most significant and complex litigations of our time—including the BP Oil Spill, the Route 91 Las Vegas shooting, the Surfside collapse, opioid and tobacco litigation, transvaginal mesh cases, Camp Lejeune, NEC, and many others.
Outside of her professional work, Mirena’s life is centered around her family. She lives in Winter Park, Florida, with her husband and their three children, where much of her perspective is shaped not by business but by the everyday realities of life, growth, and presence.
She finds meaning in quiet moments through meditation, reflection, writing, nature, and time with the people she loves. These are the spaces that allow her to stay grounded and connected to why the work matters in the first place.
